Welcome!
to Braunton School & Community College
Grand Prix excellence
Thank you for your interest in Braunton School and Community College. I hope that you find the information in this website both interesting and informative. We are a successful 11-16 Academy School with 706 students currently on roll. Our specialist status is in Mathematics and Computing, through environmental sustainability.
Exciting times; we have just become an academy school.
We have now converted to being an academy school to give us the freedom to maximize our resources and to determine how we organise our learning to benefit all of our students.
We are a small caring secondary school that offers big opportunities
Our relatively small size enables us to know every student as an individual and we aim to challenge, engage and motivate all of our students regardless of ability. We want all of our young people to confidently enjoy their learning to achieve success.
Our secure and friendly learning environment has excellent facilities in every curriculum area and we endeavour to provide an exciting range of extracurricular opportunities including overseas trips to experience the Battle fields of Ypres and the Somme, Nevada, Lyon, Berlin, Vienna, Martinique, Italy and Uganda.
Students are key partners in school improvement
Our senior students join our Governing Body and are involved in decision making for the school. Year on year our young people leave us with great qualifications coupled with well-developed personal skills, qualities and attitudes that are an excellent foundation for the next stage in their lives.
Come and see our success as we work
We retain the best of the old traditions and values, whilst embracing innovation in teaching and learning. We welcome visitors to Braunton School, at any time ring 01271-812221 to book an informal chat with me and to see the school while it is at work.
Yours sincerely,
David Sharratt MA (Principal)
